Citi Microentrepreneurship Awards
The Citi Microentrepreneurship Awards (CMA) recognizes outstanding microentrepreneurs in the Philippines. Funded by Citi Foundation, the program brings together multiple stakeholders in uplifting microfinance and enterprise development across the country: the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), Citi Philippines, and MCPI.
Through the years, this annual search has enabled the most innovative, inspiring and accomplished microentrepreneurs to scale up their businesses. The learning opportunities offered through entrepreneurship courses and intensive one-on-one mentoring programs allow awardees to improve their competitiveness and address gaps towards better business systems and enhanced products and services with the ultimate goal of graduating from a microenterprise to a small enterprise. Town hall celebrations in their hometown also enable awardees to share their success with family members, employees, and other members of their community.
More than one hundred thirty microentrepreneurs have been recognized by the CMA since it was launched in 2002 as part of Citi’s 100th anniversary in the Philippines.
