COVID-19 not only presents an alarming health crisis, but also brings forth significant disruption to global economies and great challenges to farmer groups’ business units and members.

BACKGROUND

The Government of Indonesia issued President Regulation No. 82/2020 and created a policy committee for the handling of COVID-19 and National Economic Recovery. That translates into the restructuring of the previous Taskforce to sit under the new committee and the establishment of an Economic Recovery Taskforce. With the two-prong model, the Government aims to manage the disease transmission and while concurrently optimizing its support to citizens through responsive social protection services/ schemes. 

Mercy Corps Indonesia will reach ~500,000 smallholder farmers (20% are women) and 10,000 farmer’s wives in 48 districts in 14 Provinces (TBD) through distribution crop protection and contraception products, dissemination of information on product knowledge to support the proper use, time, and dosage of crop protection and contraception products, providing access to accurate, timely and contextualized COVID-19 health messaging,

Mercy Corps Indonesia akan menjangkau ~42.500 pengusaha mikro dan kecil (30% adalah perempuan) di Malang Raya, Provinsi Jawa Timur untuk memberikan informasi, pendidikan, dan komunikasi yang dibutuhkan melalui sarana teknologi, informasi, dan komunikasi (TIK) dan memberikan dukungan terkait air, sanitasi, kebersihan (WASH).

Under the leadership of the Program Coordinator, The Operation Officer will base in program location and responsible to administration and operation issues in program location office.

*This position temporary for 12 months’ contract.

Under the leadership of the Program Coordinator, The Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL) Officer will base in the program location and responsible to support the development of program’s MEL system, including strategies and tools for measurement, data management protocol, and evidence-based learning and decision making. The MERL Officer will responsible to implement and improve program MERL in consultation with National MEL Coordinator.

Program / Department Summary

Mercy Corps Indonesia will reach ~40,000 micro and small entrepreneurs (30% are women) in Greater Malang, East Java Province to share Information, Education and Communication (IEC) campaign materials and ideas/designs of facilities needed through an ICT platform and provide WASH support.
