WASH Market Systems Development Specialists (Code: 004-WMSDS-IUWASH)

General Position Summary 

PSI seeks two WASH Market Systems Development Specialists to support the implementation of Objective 2 at the regional level. The WASH Market Systems Development Specialist plays a leading role in designing, implementing, and evaluating MSD-inspired interventions aimed to support the socio-economic integration and empowerment of minority communities and vulnerable groups across IUWASH Pasar target locations. She/He provides input to management on strategic development matters and conducts and contributes to thematic analyses and reports; as well as support other programs and/or programmatic areas in the district as needed.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the design and execution of market systems development interventions that foster socio-economic integration and empowerment within minority communities and vulnerable groups.

  • Collaborate with local stakeholders to identify opportunities and constraints within the WASH market systems.

  • Provide strategic input to management on development matters related to WASH market systems.

  • Conduct and contribute to thematic analyses and reports to inform programmatic decisions and strategies.

  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with local partners, government agencies, and community organizations to enhance program effectiveness.

  • Seek opportunities for synergies and partnerships that support the objectives of IUWASH Pasar.

  • Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess the impact and effectiveness of interventions.

  • Regularly collect and analyze data to track progress and make data-driven adjustments as needed.

  • Provide technical assistance and capacity-building support to local partners and stakeholders to enhance their ability to engage in market systems development activities.

  • Collaborate with other programs and programmatic areas in the district as required, offering expertise and support to achieve organizational goals.

  • Any other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the supervisor.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, product design, or a related discipline.

  • At least five years experience in designing and implementing market systems development interventions, preferably in the WASH sector or related fields.

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to conduct thematic analyses and generate actionable insights

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.

  • Experience in monitoring and evaluation, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.

  • Capacity-building skills to transfer knowledge and skills to local partners and communities.

  • Ability to work effectively in multicultural settings and with minority communities and vulnerable groups

  • Advanced report writing skills and proficiency languages (both Spoken and Written): in Bahasa Indonesia is required and in English is highly desirable; 

  • Citizen of Indonesia;
