PROGRAM OFFICER (PO) – SEED 4 WOMEN
General Position Summary
The Program Officer will support the SEED 4 Women Program Manager to onboard 50 new agent and ensure 850 women entrepreneurs increase their knowledge of financial literacy, have access to financial services through agent networking (for i.e Agen Laku Pandai), and use digital payment transactions. He will lead program planning, implementation, and monitoring in each program work area and work closely with agent networking, district government agencies, the private sector, communities, and program partners. Position based in Malang Raya (Malang City and Malang Regency), East Java and 80% of working time will be in the field/program locations.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Support the SEED 4 Women Program Manager to ensure at least 850 women entrepreneurs participate in a series of SEED 4 Women program activities such as training, mentoring, webinars, and participants' access to financial institutions.
Support the SEED 4 Women Program Manager to onboard 50 new Agent and ensure at least 68 Agent Network participate in a series of SEED 4 Women program activities such as training, mentoring and webinars.
Supervise program facilitators who provide training and mentoring to participants both online and offline. And ensure that the facilitators conduct the activity according to the program deliverables.
Work with the Training & Mentoring Officer to design a capacity-building plan (training, workshop, comparative study, etc.) and ensure field activities (training, mentoring, outreach events, etc.) to achieve program deliverables indicators.
Work with Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning Officers to ensure data availability for monitoring, evaluation, and program learning reports.
Collaborate with Program partners and agent networking to increase women entrepreneurs' access to financial literacy, increase saving behavior, access to business loans, digital payment services, and increase business development literacy to achieve program deliverables indicators.
Prepare plans, monthly work targets, and provide monthly achievement reports against targets and work plans.
Knowledge and Experience
University degree in Economics, Business, Social Sciences, Agriculture, or a related field.
Experience of more than 2 years working in development programs emphasizing economic development in rural areas (experience in training and mentoring programs for women entrepreneurs or financial literacy will be an advantage).
Experience in mobilizing entrepreneurs, conducting economic research, assessments, and surveys.
Experience in conducting training to entrepreneurs on saving practices (sources and content of the training will be provided by Mercy Corps).
Experience using digital data collection tools to monitor the progress of beneficiary entrepreneurs.
Moderate English and have the ability to communicate in the local language at the participants location.
Experience working with local government agencies (particularly the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, Ministry of Trade, and District Governments) and the private sector.
Computer skills with strong familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
PROGRAM ASSISTANT (PA) – SEED 4 WOMEN
General Position Summary
The Program Assistant will report to the Program Manager but will also be closely supporting the work of the Training and Mentoring Officer, Program Officer and MERL Officer. The Program Assistant will carry out administrative, finance and procurement tasks, as well as, translating and documenting letters, training modules, field reports, meeting minutes, beneficiaries counting and filing. Position based in Malang Raya (Malang City and Malang Regency), East Java and 10% of working time will be in the field/Program locations.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Support the program team in organizing all logistics for program-related meetings, workshops, trainings, and or mentoring. This is includes identifying venues for training and accommodation, materials, arranging snacks and meals, managing consultants’ contract, and other activities based on the TMO, PO & MERL Officer’s plan and guidance.
Maintain the program filing and documentation system, including maps, photos documentation/ management and media monitoring files, field documents/ assessment, training materials/ modules, contracts, agreements and other administrative/ logistics documents in coordination with the Program Manager/ Training and Mentoring Officer/ Program Officer/MERL Officer. Collect and catalogue program resource materials.
Support the Program Manager to prepare reports as required by the funder.
On an as-needed basis, translate training materials/ modules and documents or provide oral translations from Bahasa Indonesia to English and vice versa for the program team and visitors.
Support the program team in handling and following up the procurement needs, in accordance with the Field Procurement Policies and Procedures (FP3).
Assist field staff, guests and consultants in all administrative matters such as vehicle use, accommodations, and others, in coordination with the Operations Team.
Knowledge and Experience
University degree, preferable in social, management, and economics,
4 years of experience accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
1+ years of experience working in development programs with an emphasis on empowering of women-led small businesses or experience in training and mentoring for women-led adult and youth small businesses would be an advantage.
Experience in administrative/ secretarial tasks is a plus.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Computers skills with strong familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Very good understanding in English and Bahasa Indonesia verbal and written communication skills.
