Program Coordinator (Code : 053-PC ROOTS)
General Position Summary
Program Coordinator will ensure to reach 1,000 coffee farmers (60% women and 40% men) as direct participants and 3,000 coffee farmers family members (60% women and 40% men) as indirect participants within 18 months program implementation through community engagement (assessments, form community resilience committees), capacity building and training, implementation of climate resilience solutions (includes promote and access to financial products and services and digital marketing), and learnings and knowledge-sharing activities. The target demographic for this program consists of smallholder coffee growing communities in Dairi Regency, particularly those in rural, highland communities where coffee is the primary or secondary source of income. These smallholder farming communities typically own small plots of land (0.5 to 2 hectares) and rely on coffee and horticulture/staple crops for their livelihoods.
S/he will work together with the Dairi Regency government agencies, Bank Sumut, Marketplace company, Insurance company, coffee farmer groups/cooperatives, and community groups related to female coffee farmers/coffee farmers’ wives and vulnerable groups. In addition, s/he will lead the program plan, design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, research, and learning.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Prepare bi-weekly report on project progress, challenges, and recommendations.
Prepare Progress reports (every six months), and Final Report based on donor template and program indicators.
Develop a program design, monitoring and evaluation framework and plan.
Develop monthly workplan, budget, and target and provide monthly progress against the target and workplan.
Conduct assessments on climate risks, community needs, disaster preparedness, Safeguarding and GESI analysis, baseline, and endline based on Mercy Corps Indonesia standard and involving local stakeholders and vulnerable communities.
Ensure the data needed for program monitoring, evaluation, research, learning, communication, and report are available.
Maintain close regular contact with Mercy Corps CFT, the local government agencies, key partners, and local community partners to ensure quality of deliverables and trouble shoot any administrative problems.
Attend coordination meetings and maintain regular contact with relevant stakeholders.
Conduct travel to program locations to monitor quality of implementation and adjust plans and approaches to meet the program objectives.
Assist in any other task or duty assigned.
Provide collaboration supervision local partners’ activities implementation as per the agreement.
Organize procurement of services and consultants where needed.
Fulfill Mercy Corps’ PM@MC 2.0.
Collaborate with MCI’s finance team to prepare subgrant agreement and produce monthly and final financial report.

Knowledge and Experience
University degree in Agriculture, Social Studies, Economic, Business, or related fields
Minimum 10 years’ experience working with NGOs in DRR and Livelihood Programs.
Experience collaborates with the national, province, and regency government agencies.
Experience collaborates with Financial Services Providers (PSFs). Experience collaborates with insurance companies would be an advantage.
Experience collaborates with research/think tank agency.
Experience in branchless banking for financial inclusion, particularly for MEs and women.
Experience using digital data tools.
Understanding of working together with local partners.
Experience work with the private company or private foundation donor would be an advantage.
Proven experience managing diverse and disparate projects.
Experience in managing staff and understanding the need for regular support and follow-up to ensure that project objectives are being met.
Commitment to working with vulnerable groups in need regardless of race, religion or gender.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work without constant supervision and as part of a mixed team.
Good knowledge of MS Office software such as Excel, Word, Power Point, and Teams.
Able to write and understandable spoken English are preferred.
