Marketing Officer (Mo) - Micromentor Indonesia
Program Summary
Mercy Corps’ MicroMentor mentoring platform (www.micromentor.org) is adapted and localized to serve Bahasa Indonesia users through Mercy Corps Indonesia. By December 2022, MicroMentor Indonesia (MMI) achieved and surpassed its original program target of reaching 40,000 entrepreneurs and 10,000 mentors. To date, MicroMentor Indonesia has successfully supported more than 215,000 individuals to actively participate in Indonesia's digital transformation journey by reached more than 187,000 entrepreneurs and 27,000 mid-career professional volunteer mentors through trainings, webinars, and mentoring. Additionally, MicroMentor Indonesia’s program target to create 35,000 engagements is measured by 1) entrepreneurs accessing digital training content (with a focus on cybersecurity), 2) entrepreneurs increasing their skills as a result of business mentoring, and 3) mid-career professionals mentors accessing relevant content in the form of webinars. MicroMentor Indonesia has created 101,521 engagements through access to various digital training content on cybersecurity toolkits, business development through e-learning, webinars, and mentoring connection.
MicroMentor Indonesia plans to expand its community by skilling for over additional 40,000 micro and small businesses/entrepreneurs and 10,000 mid-career professional mentors until August 2023. The program will do this by promoting technological literacy, as well as capacity building and skills development of entrepreneurs and mid-career professionals via mentoring and digital training. Via this methodology, MMI will implement the activities, such as: upgrade the MMI current platform to the global platform; translate content into Bahasa Indonesia, integrate existing services with several digital training contents and business development; including enhance user acquisition strategies through partnership, digital marketing optimization, and community engagement.
MicroMentor Indonesia partnership with various stakeholders from relevant organizations in the entrepreneurship ecosystem that has an in-line vision with MicroMentor, such as: sees mentoring as a component for entrepreneur success; support entrepreneurship programs; and support the right audiences such as MSMEs, startup entrepreneurs, and professional / business associations, especially who’s connected to the digital platform. Through the support from its donors, MicroMentor Indonesia can provide a free-of-charge partnership to the partner, unless they need technology enhancement of the existing platform and its services.
General Position Summary
Under the leadership of the Program Coordinator, the Marketing Officer will base in the program location, and responsible for the development of the marketing strategy including digital marketing and conventional marketing of MicroMentor Indonesia. S/he S/he will be responsible to implement and improve the marketing strategy and lead the platform modifications in consultation with the MicroMentor Global team.
The position is based in Jakarta and probably requires up to 30% travel depending on need.
Essential Job Responsibilities
The marketing officer will be responsible for:
- Support the development and modification of the MicroMentor Indonesia platform and assess the UI/UX are contextualization to the targeted participants in consultation with the MicroMentor Global team.
- Optimize content for the website to drive website traffic and acquire leads.
- Develop and manage marketing strategies to engage with potential users to increase the number of new users.
- Develop and manage marketing strategies to engage with existing users to increase the number of mentoring connections.
- Manage MicroMentor Indonesia's social media channels such as Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn through creating, editing, posting, and promoting the program's products, services, events, and success stories.
- Creating and executing WhatsApp marketing campaigns.
- Identify new marketing trends and ensure that the brand is leading in the ecosystem.
- Evaluate and optimize the strategy of marketing campaigns, email marketing, social media, and display and search advertising, including using web analytics tools, and provide internal reports regularly.
- Provide support in reporting to the existing stakeholders. Such as donors, partners, and beneficiaries, among others.
Knowledge and Experience
- BA or equivalent in marketing, international development, or relevant field.
- Experience in entrepreneurship programs or start-up development programs.
- 3 years of experience in managing digital or conventional marketing.
- Great organizational and communication skills.
- Great skills in technology, including social media, and tools in digital marketing and management.
- Proven experience organizing events will be preferred.
- Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Facility with web and information technologies, including social media tools and web-based tools such as Salesforce.com, Vertical Response, and Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to work with individuals from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Mastering work on the SEO of the website pages would be an advantage.
- English and Bahasa Indonesia fluency. Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Bahasa Indonesia
