Training And Mentoring Program Officer - Covid19 Origin Women’s Resilience Initiative

General Position Summary

Training and Mentoring Program Officer will support the Program Coordinator to develop education materials on COVID-19 prevention and accurate vaccine information, WASH, healthy safe care and nutrition design. S/he will work with the health program officer to conduct Training of Trainers for at least 100 village health cadres on the Community Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) and stunting management, and deliver education to at least 1,000 members of origin communities, especially female famers/farmers’ wives (care-givers) related to CLTS and stunting management. In addition, s/he will conduct training and mentoring on Agripreneurship for at least 100 local youth. 

The position is based in Humbang Hasundutan and requires up to 50 % travel to program locations (depend on COVID-19 development).

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Support the Program Coordinator to ensure the program will improve at least 10,000 origin communities’ awareness on COVID-19 prevention and accurate vaccine information as well as on WASH, healthy safe care and nutrition;
  • Support the Program Coordinator to ensure the program will have 100 village health cadres on the CLTS and stunting management and deliver education to at least 1,000 female famers/farmers’ wives (care-givers) related to CLTS and stunting management.
  • Support the Program Coordinator to deliver Agripreneurship training and mentoring at least to 100 local youth;
  • Develop criteria to identify the program participants who will receive messages on COVID-19 prevention and accurate vaccine information as well as on WASH, healthy safe care and nutrition;
  • Develop criteria to identify the program participants who will participate on the Agripreneurship training and mentoring;
  • Based on needs assessment analysis and technical WASH assessment, develop training workplan to improve origin communities’ awareness on COVID-19 prevention and accurate vaccine information as well as on WASH, healthy safe care and nutrition.
  • Based on needs assessment analysis, develop training and mentoring workplan to enhance Agripreneurship of local youth.
  • Develop monthly workplan and target and provide monthly progress against the target and workplan;
  • Support Program Coordinator to develop partnership agreements with government and private agencies based on needs assessment and technical WASH assessment results;
  • Ensure the data needed for program monitoring, evaluation, learning and report are available;
  • Attend coordination meetings and maintain regular contact with relevant stakeholder.
  • Conduct travel to project locations to monitor quality of implementation, and adjust plans and approaches to meet the project objective;
  • Support Program Coordinator to prepare final report.
  • Assist in any other task or duty assigned.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in Economic, Business, Social Studies, or related fields.
  • 3+ years’ experience working as a training and mentoring officer in development programs. Experience in design and implementing the training and mentoring on COVID-19 prevention and accurate vaccine information as well as on WASH, healthy safe care and nutrition, and agripreneurship would be an advantage.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working with NGOs and Local Government Agencies in Emergency, Recovery and Livelihood Programs.
  • Experience in deliver training and mentoring for female farmers and youth agripreneurs would be an advantage.
  • Understanding of working together with local partners.
  • Good problem solving, and written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to take initiative, to anticipate and solve problems; and to work independently on multiple tasks with limited supervision, to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
  • Good knowledge of MS Office software such as Excel, Word, and Access.
  • Able to write and understandable spoken English are preferred.
